The 1970 silver Manx crown features the second portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin on the obverse with the reverse depicting the Manx Cat.
Native to the Isle of Man, the Manx Cat has distinguishable characteristics in that the breed has no tail and elongated hind legs making it instantly recognisable. The reverse engraving by Christopher Ironside depicts the cat facing to the left with the denomination and the date displayed underneath.
Struck in Sterling silver, the coins are as struck, inside their original plastic packets, and cased. The original white cases may show signs of discolouration due to age. No certificates were issued with these coins.
