William, the King's tailor, is recorded as a moneyer in the last class of the short cross coinage. His coin is signed Willem Ta, possibly to distinguish him from another William who may have been the issuer of a coin
bearing the name of William only, and who was a moneyer at the same mint (Canterbury) at the same time.
